This morning, as Sharefest’s Annual Workday was kicking off, excitement reached fever pitch when Holmes Avenue Elementary School was surprised with the gift of a computer lab valued at over $45,000. The new, state of the art computer lab will provide students with 35 computer stations giving students access to the most recent technology and a high quality 21stcentury education. Thanks to a generous gift from an anonymous donor, Holmes will receive much more than they are expecting today.
In addition to the computer lab, the campus at Holmes Avenue Elementary will be revitalized by painting murals, landscaping, gardening, and replacing playground furniture, as well as some general clean up. Adopted by King's Harbor Church, LA County Department of Public Social Services, iRise, Pepperdine University, the campus beautification project is bringing positive and tangible changes which not only enhance the school’s appearance, but also bring together the community for a common purpose of lasting change.
Service projects like these are going on all around the South Bay and Harbor areas, and we are grateful for all the volunteers and sponsors who are continuing to make this year’s workday a success!!!
